Center boom breakaway ideas

We have an ongoing problem with box trucks hitting and damaging our high-pressure booms. Due to the nature of the boom design it protrudes approximately 11 inches below its mounting plate. We want to replace the existing booms with a lower profile boom such as the Mosmatic. Additionally, we want to incorporate some type of breakaway bolt/fitting or possibly some spring loaded device that will allow the boom assembly to retract ar break away from the structure without damaging the building. Of course, we will attach a safety chain. I have been looking for ideas and was wondering if anybody had some suggestions.

Maybe you could have some kind of pivoting swingarm welded up with breakaway bolts like the awnings over fast food restaurants drive through lines? Something that scissors out of the way when hit? Would have to have a few extra feet of HP line in the attic ziptied in though so you aren't ripping the hose out of the ceiling...

Have you considered pipes across the entrances hanging from the roof to stop them from entering?

We are planning on also installing some entrance restricting barriers as you mentioned. However, what happenes when a roof mounted ladder gets wedged between the building roof and above the pipe/barrier? Perhaps some type of magnetic breakaway.
