Cat310 Pressure Drop

Hello, A few of my pumps are currently reading around 975 PSI when the trigger is pulled and about 1300 PSI when the trigger is released. I have JC set up, and three months ago, they were reading a consistent 1100 PSI. There is no noticeable pulsation in the system.
  • Is it normal for the pressure to decrease over time?
  • Should I start by replacing the pressure regulator, and then move on to inspecting and possibly replacing the high-pressure seals? For context, I replaced the regulators on both pumps in October of last year.

Thank you.

If you replaced the regulators on both pumps recently then there is no reason they should be going bad.

Check and make sure your presoak bypass solenoid is closing fully when HP rinse is engaged.

Curious how your reading was consistent with trigger pulled. Not familiar with JC’s system. An 08 on our KleenRite system would show a drop of 300-350psi from not pulled handle to the pulled handle psi. A tip of 05 is usually a drop of 100-150 psi. Awhile back I ran an experiment with different tips to see/measure the drop change.

Good Point, will do and update here. I dislike the presoak setup on JC; it's overly complicated. I wish they had done it the same as the tire cleaner.

The trigger gun. I built a low pressure setup and used a flojet. I mounted it on a plastic white cutting board I bought at Sams Club for $10. I used 3/8" poly to the bays and the flow is pretty decent.
