CAT 5CP2120W Issue

Got a new one this morning.

One of my CAT pumps produces only very low pressure and is leaking heavily underneath. I haven't been able to take the pump apart yet, but figured I would ask if someone can already pinpoint the diagnosis from the picture/video.

Appreciate any feedback.

Has anyone ever tried the third party aftermarket Cat pump seal kits. I've looked at them a few times but never have pulled the trigger on any. The OEM seal kits have gotten crazy expensive.

I have used and am currently using the Amazon seal kits on 310 pumps, tried 1 kit as a test about 3 years ago, and it was fine after 2 years, and is still good, so I switched to using those. The felts need a little trimming to fit, otherwise no issue. I still keep genuine kits on hand if needed. I follow cat instructions to a T, including all the sealant and lubrication they recommended on reassembly. I've never had any issues with oem or aftermarket kits. Never tried on a 5cp pump, not worth the cost savings there IMO, aftermarket kits are still pricey.

To most it probably isn't worth the savings, but we have quite a few pumps that need rebuild when we take over washes. I went into the test on the first kit with the mindset that I will try it and be ready to redo the labor if necessary to switch in a genuine cat seal kit. I waited about 2 years before switching to the aftermarket kits in other pumps to gauge longevity of the aftermarket kits. The risk paid off in this situation. Savings of almost $100 per kit.

As usual you guys were correct. The low pressure seals has disintegrated - haven't ever seen them like this before.

It looks like I also had some crud clog up the sprayer wand. Likely whatever this blocked the sprayer and pressure built up causing the seals to fail spectacularly.

New seal kit is in, working great again.

How much did you pay for the Amazon kits? They’re $106.17 at KR
$42.39 for a 6 pack including tax and Amazon prime, $7.06 per kit. Looks like prices have gone up since I bought them. Looks like the same kits are $13-15 each on eBay today

KR kit would be $112.54 after tax and free shipping through points for me for comparison
