When adding oil to the top up how much?

My CAT pumps have a sight class. I've been told oil to the mid point of the glass. Helps to have a flash light.

I think mine has a red dot in the middle of the sight glass for oil level. I fill to that red dot. Yes I use a flashlight and mirror too.

Fill to the middle of the red dot if the top of the pulley turns toward the head, fill to the top of the dot if it turns the other way.
