Can anyone tell me why a Cat 3535 would have a different plunger size and bore size then another Cat 3535? I was helping a friend with his 3535 that was surging. When we took it apart I found the head has some pretty major spots with porosity in 2 of the 3 lower ports. So I grabbed a spare head I had and put everything together, and when trying to put it on the pump nothing fit?? The ports on mine were smaller and the plungers were smaller then on his pump? Did they make different heads for the same model? The casting numbers were the same on both. Confused, changed valves and put his back together to get through weekend.

Different pumps can use the same drive end (crankcase), however the plunger diameters should remain the same with each pump model.
Example;
3545 plunger diameter = 45mm
3535 plunger diameter = 40mm
3520 plunger diameter = 32mm

Happy to help !

Maybe it’s not a 3535. Possibly a 3545. What kind of auto is it on? Oasis Typhoons will have 3545’s.
