Cat 310 pump manifold washed out?

They also erode in the HP seal area. Usually you can look at the outsides of the seals and see where water has been bypassing. Look at the adjacent area in the manifold and see if it is eroded. Once you see a washed out manifold you won't have any trouble finding the next one. IMO, it is not cost effective to sleeve the head. By the time you pay for the repair, shipping both ways, and a seal kit, you are way over 200 bucks. That's too much to sink into an old pump when there are brand new pumps available for less than $400.
When I last checked, a new manifold was over $500 and a complete pump was over $600. Resleaving was less than $200. So I resleaved. Sadly. Dynajet is out of biz...

I had a severe chatter on my Arimitsu pump a few weeks ago. I went online and found the troubleshooting guide from Arimitsu, which was very helpful. After cleaning the valves a few different times, I rigged up a garden hose to a three-quarter inch ( i think) nipple which I screwed into the inlet of the pump. Fed this way, the pump chatter disappeared. So I knew that my issue was within about 2 1/2 feet of plumbing between my gravity tank and the inlet. I kept removing and plugging different orifices until I got down to a 20 year old swing check valve. That was the only thing left so I removed it as I did not need it anymore. My chattering went away.
