Do you have enough coins in the Hopper to cover the 2 stainless steel strips on the Hopper bowl? Have you pushed the white reset button on the controller? Have you tried cleaning the strips and the face of the Hopper pin wheel? Turn off the power and unplug the Hopper and the controller a few times. It could be the controller or the harness.

I apologize I should have been more detailed. Took it apart. Cleaned the strips. Reset it a few times. Works for about 30 minutes then triggers itself “empty “

Check the harness going to the Hopper, looking for any signs of the harness being tampered with or being smashed, try wiggling the harness after you reset the changer. I'm kind of thinking you have a bad controller.
