Buying tires on-line

Has anyone bought tires on-line and had them mounted locally?

My Z needs tires and of course, they are expensive. On-line a place called Tire-Rack sells what I need, they are tied to a local tire store "Big O and the end result is that I can get the same tire, installed and save about $200.

They ship them to Big O and their install charges are the same.

I almost always buy my tires online. The other day, I got a set of Michelin snow tires for my BMW. Regular price $350 each. Closeout price $139 each with a $70 MIR on 4. I had them mounted locally. The Michelin snow tires ride smoother than the OEM tires. I usually buy mine at tirerack or discounttiredirect. The tires on my BMW came from tirerack, the tires on my VW came from discounttiredirect and the tires on my Z came from tirerack.

I bought online several times. I had a MB C230 with huge rims and low profile rubber. I saved a bundle. The local MB dealer installed for free. I paid only the price for speed balancing. My your local dealer will offer the same?

I always get pricing online then go to the local guys and have them price match. It works out of both of us. I get the tires I want and they get the cash for mounting them and any profit from the tire sale. Then if I have any warranty issues I just go to the local store.

One of the local stores does free snow tire change-over. Since I bought the tires at their store (with the price match) they change/rotate/balance my tires twice a year for FREE!

I've bought from Tire Rack with no problem. I've also printed their price and got it matched locally.
