BluePay and Etowah Valley Quickpay Timers

GoBuckeyes

Self-Serve and Automatics
We used to use BluePay for our merchant services for our Etowah Valley Quickpay Timers. We never had a problem with them with the exception of their rates. I think it was about two or three years ago we switched to TSYS when we switched all of our automatics to them as well. The rates have been much better but this past year we have been having too many problems with customers getting charged the authorization amount, $25 in our case, rather than their actual amount. I think it's time to switch back to BluePay for the reliability and better interface even if the rates are higher. Before doing so, I just wanted to check and make sure anyone using them isn't experiencing any trouble. Thanks

I switched from Bluepay to TSYS a couple years ago also. I have never had customers charged the charges you are talking about. I am count down though.

Have had Crypto for just about two years now. Not a single max charge call. Avg. about $2k a month in bay/vac CC charges. I have had a handful of calls about the auth. hold. Tell them to give it 24 hrs. and have yet to get a call back. My only issue is swipers that are further away from coordinator not always in service. otherwise been happy.

Hi,
I have Etowah Valley units on my SS bays and was planning to go to Crypto Pay from Blue Pay. Is it easy to program?

I switched to TYSY on my etowah valley a couple years ago. Rates are 1/3 what they were with Blue pay. Much higher approval rates and far fewer problems. The only calls I get are for the Hold amounts. I only have a $10 preapproval amount. $25 seems pretty high to me. If they run over the $10 they can simply swipe their card again. Putting a lock on $25 of many peoples money is too much IMO.

Yes pretty easy, you set up your account and program how you want each unit to work with the charges and timers. Been pretty happy with everything. Am in the middle of redoing another wash now and will be installing Cryptopay there also.

I had the $10 preapproval amount for many years but got tired of all the people calling about the charges if they forgot to press the BIG RED STOP button or saw the preappoved charge on their credit card statement online that day.
So I changed the preapproval charge to $8.37 two years ago. I picked a random $ amount.
Every year I increase it a little bit.
Now I get 1-2 calls a month.
One less headache.
Works for me.

I have the same issues with swipers that are far away losing connection. I moved my coordinator a little closer and that helped. They also sell a repeater that you can install to fix the issue if needed.

I was having lots of wifi issues at my house.... Dropping, distance, just too many items etc. I would consider this product.

Ubiquiti Networks Enterprise AP Unifi - UAP

It is cheap.... But you still need a router.... Great product.
