Check the forum for posts by Tom Hoffman Jr. He has a very successful chain of washes in NY state and has put in both belt and traditional conveyors in his new constructions. I believe he went back to the traditional type after a belt installation, but check the forum - it is here somewhere.
As for me, I have not installed one, but one drawback I see from a functional standpoint is the fact that the wheels on the cars are not rolling. This will limit the type of equipment you can use for tire and wheel cleaning and shining.
