So this dumb*** decided to drag my vector even though he knew his car stuck to it (shown video). I went up there reset but it gave butterfly error. I manually jogged it to fold/adjust and it moved a little bit then it stuck. Then it didn't move at all. When I tried to jog it, I can hear sound comes out from motor/gearbox. The collar seems fine, not seeing it stuck. Called belanger, the guy say the gearbox might be damage. He also recommended to change the motor too while at it. What are yall thoughts?
And I can't catch the guy license plate *smh*.

Get a solid clearance bar and a high def camera system with license plate cameras ( they are different cameras), the whole system would have been paid for by catching the person from just this one incident

I found a way to get a better footage of the video and got his license plate. First time encounter to this, i will need the police helping out identify who he is. What if he denied to pay or give out his insurance and claim not his fault? And will his insurance pay for this?

Had it happen twice with my twin arm Kondor. They can't read signs and torn down the overhead clearance bollard. Yes the gearbox is wiped out. Yes their insurance companies paid for it and loss of income. At least in my case. Good cameras pay for themselves 10 times over!

at my wash, when damage occurs, i show police the video and they contact the driver. if driver will not cooperate, police get me their insurance info and i take it from there. this has worked 100% of the time for me. if the drivers insurance company asks me to contact my carrier first, i politely decline and tell them it has nothing to do with my insurance company.

and i have a hard stop height restriction and excellent cameras. these are a must, because ....customers.....

Police report and contact their insurance, they need to pay for a real repair, not a band aid fix

Same thing happened to us with a truck with a large snow plow on the front even though we have a sign we put up in the winter that says "No Snowplows Allowed". Driver hooked the boom on his plow and backed up with the boom stuck on it. Luckily the gear box wasnt toast on ours.

I like this answer a lot. Our clearance bar is on a chain, wish it would be solid, so customers have no choice and cant enter the wash. I would rather have damage to my clearance bar than to the wash itself.
