Belanger sonar

Don't know if this would help anyone. After replacing numerous sonars I decided to take one apart. The sonar itself is a sealed unit with no moving parts so obviously no repair there. But the connector on the earlier units did not have an o-ring. The moisture would eventually get in there and corrode the wires on the back of the connector. Certainly it will malfunction because of that. I won't guarantee that there might not be something else internal. But for $550 for a new one this is a cheap repair if you find the connector corroded.

I replaced a sonar on my 5-year-old Ryko Soft gloss this fall. Their sonar looks similar, but the price is over $1500. The Ryko version has no connector, about 30 feet of wire connected.
