I need to either "obtain" or create some before-and-after photos to create some marketing collateral that show the benefits of good detailing. If I can obtain some photos (hint), I will not claim them as my work-- only use them as demonstrations of what can be done.

Or, can you give me any hints about what sort of before-and-after photos you've found effective? Whole car shots? Just a wheel and fender? What sort of dash or interior photos?

Thanks ....

I just took some of a Volvo I did this weekend. I usually take 7 or 8 shots before and then take the same 7 or 8 shots after and pick the best 2 or 3 to put in my portfolio. This car was hard since the interior was all black.

You may want to be careful w/before and after shots. They can encourage the nastier cars if you're not careful.

Try some faded/dull hoods and do half and take that picture.

Some interior shots of the rear of a dirty van are good sometimes.

What you want to do is stage several BEFORE and AFTER shots of what is involved in a detail.

Engine (be sure to spray some dressing on the engine to get it to shine)

Wheels and Tires (again dressing)

Carpets - dirty before and very clean after

Seats - same as above

Paint - must be dull and/or scratched before and very shiny and clear after

This is the best way to show all that you can do with a detail.

It will take time to stage but you then have what you need.
