Recently I had a few more dollars than month. Rather than spend it on a modest night on the town or some gadget, I spent it at kiva.org - sponsoring a few microloans.
The microloans I made were to a cooperative retail store, a restaurant, a produce vendor and an internet cafe. It was fun and rewarding. In addition, when these loans are repaid I can reuse them to fund new microloans.
While browsing kiva today I noticed a request from a car wash owner in Azarbaijan. This was the first time I had seen a car wash request, and it caught my eye. I thought some folks here might also find it interesting.
