Alternative to metal parapet wall

What issue are you trying to resolve? Eliminating the need to paint or trying to mitigate damage from over height trucks?

The metal roofing I have on my buildings hasn’t needed painting after 20+ years.

I think you need a height restriction bar. Any material you use to replace the metal will likely be more of an issue to repair/replace. If you replaced with a plywood backer and covered with asphalt shingles you’ll be replacing shingles constantly.

Both, the metal has been up since 1988. Has been bent from the wind and hit and has been painted. It's just looking old and tired like me. Just looking maybe to replace with something that doesn't need painted. Chemicals from the iba really burn off the paint rather quickly.

I think you’ll find that paint on new panels will last longer without need to repaint.
It doesn’t look like you can raise the height at all. I actually lowered the door height at one location to 10’. I found that vehicles over 10’ actually caused more damage and left more grease and debris than was worth my time. When I remodeled and installed PVC panels I wanted to keep the industrial trucks away. I had another location that they could use up to 12’.
I think you should focus on a way to keep the roof from being hit by over height trucks a then address the new metal panels.

A company that does gas station type canopies can install a flat smooth mansard that would give it a much more finished, modern look.

This company is near me and does a ton of express washes. https://secanopies.com/car-wash/ There's probably a company that specializes in gas station construction near you. They may be able to tell you who they use for their canopy work.

I agree with Eric and don't really want the large vehicle business. My lots are too tight and It has too much potential to bring a lot of problems with it.

Thanks for that. I think I mistakenly called the metal parapet but I think you are correct in it being a mansard wall. I may go that route as I had a quote to paint that was $8k.
