Air Machine

Hey Guys, I am building an air machine, got everything together in the box, slugbuster, timer, transformer and solenoid...I am planning on putting an air regulator on the air line that feeds the machine from the equipment room and was curious as to what setting the regulator should be set?

I know the tires on my F-250 call for 75 PSI so it should be at least that. I don't see any need for a regulator. I would just run it right off the compressor. One change I would make is to put the solenoid inside the eq. room. If someone tears the thing off the wall your compressor won't sit there and run until it self destructs.

I kind of like a regulator because I once blew up a bike tire. Boy are they loud when they go. I suggest setting it in the 80 psi range.

Pat , Thanks for the idea to put the solenoid in the equipment room/ I had it installed in the box,on second thought I will be installing it inside equipmnt room. Thanks for all the great input ,,,, Flamingo Steve

.75/ 4 minutes but thinking about going up to $1.00/4 minutes. I also made my own air machine and my solenoid is located in the equipment room. I sell more air than any other vending product.

Here's mine

Wiring is easy...24v transformer to a coinmech, timer and solenoids. Compressor, ball valve regulator, hose, inflator end. Add a coinbox, locks and you're good to go.

$500 or so to make if you have your compressor. Easy $60/month.

Where can I find a wiring diagram to set up an air machine like this? Thanks

Just copy the wiring in one of your vacs. Just put a solenoid where the vac motors go. It is easly enough.
When I built mine I used a 120V timer and solenoid so that I would not have to use a transformer.

Ditto. The only thing that needs to be in the box in this setup is the coin mech. Timer and solenoid - 120v stuff can be in the building.

I'm thinking about building my own air machine also. I plan on using a box for the coin acceptor mounted to a wall above a brick island with a safe in it. I will also put a JE Adams air machine base (with a hose reel) embedded in the brick island. Use air from the equipment room.

My concern is that whenever I have used one of these machines, I know when it is done because I hear the compressor turn off. By using the ER air, there will be no noise to tell when the cycle is over. I will put a light on the meterbox door, but am concerned that that will not be enough. Should I add a digital display, or am I concerned about nothing?

I think your concern is valid. I don't think a digital display will work any better than a pilot light. Maybe a tee with a needle valve you can control a small amount of flow inside the machine to have it make noise while it's running, or even a beeper to chirp while it's running. I know I'd hate to be squatting by a tire trying to fill it to realize the machine is off.
