ACW 4 having issues

Suddenly having an issue our ACW 4 - display frequently reads Ver 1.02 and will not accept bills or acknowledge selection. Power cycling restores functionality, but only temporarily. Thought it might be due to extreme cabinet heat, but we've had temps in the 70s lately and it's still going out. Also, experienced an areawide power outage prior to the problem but that may also be just coincidence. Any ideas about what is causing this and how to remedy would be greatly appreciated.

Your controller might be locking up. Check the connections that plug into the controller on the top and the side. Unplug and inspect for green corrosion or water damage on the connections. Re-plug and make sure they are tight. Do you have a spare controller?

Sounds like maybe a failed battery in the controller. Prob lost memory. Someone here may be able to help with reprogramming using the selection buttons. ..but if that’s the case it will repeat anytime you have power issue. Hamilton no longer suppprts that unit (since 8/2025)….so you are likely on your own.

it doesn't sound like the same battery issue that I had because cycling the power wouldn't bring it back to normal when my battery went bad. I had to go back in and reset all the wash names and prices every time I lost power When my battery was bad.

When the battery goes bad the display will say "Memory data altered"
