ACW 4 CC speed

Have an ACW 4 w/credit card retrofit. Would like acceptance speed to be faster. Is there anything I can do?

The phone company acted like there's things they can do to the line, but they want me to start with the changer itself.

I'm also planning to add credit cards to my handbays, wonder what effect that'll have.

There isn’t much of anything you can do to make it faster on the ACW side. It normally takes about 25-35 seconds to authorize a transaction. What else do you have on the ACW phone line? You don’t want to have anything else on the ACW phone line, no fax machine, answering machine, or other equipment, you want to have a dedicated phone line for the ACW only.

When I added WashGear to my wash I removed the Hamilton CC system from the ACWs and installed the WG conversion. I was tired of the long waits as well.

Has your plan for in-bay CC acceltance gotten to the stage of selecting a system? You might opt for something like I.B. mentioned that will tie into the ACW. As far as I know, only WashGear can do that. Any high-speed clearance through Hamilton hardware would require a new ACW. The D.A.N. won't work with an ACW-4 or -5.

The DAN system will work with an ACW-4/5. You’re limited on what it will do. You can’t do all the same things that you can do with a Goldline ACW, but it will work for high speed CC processing, loyalty/gift cards and pulling reports.
