I am a novice, but does the "Swipe and Clean" (made by Coleman, I think), work in the same fashion as Wash Card, Wash Gear or the Hamilton Dan?
Just wondering if it is obsolete. Thanks
I appreciate all of your input and am doing my due dilligence. I don't know if I want to continue to lose in my 401k and stock market or if I want to throw it at a business that could be worse (but hopefully better!).
Looking at a 5 and 1 with self storage and wanted to know how well the self storage business is. Any comments from experienced storage operators? The wash seems to be priced real well with the self storage. I wanted to know what the current percentage of vacancy is running on storage units and...
In Detroit (home of the 'Original $2 Car Wash) we have been fighting the price war for over 15 years. We have a few $1 washes and some that wash for free on Friday and Saturday night after 8pm or if it rains to "keep them in the washing habit".

I would never have a site unattended with a conveyor - friction or touch-free. Even a convenience store/fuel site will have a cashier on site for thier "customer self-loaded conveyor wash. Regarding the dwell time for a touch-free tunnel, you can achieve the proper time if the conveyor is not...
Where is the nearsest competitor? Sounds like a rural area to me and typically self servebays and inbay automatics are different competition to a tunnel, but if it is rural, they will be a factor. 28,000 cars at what speed?
Roof tops are critical in a express tunnel model. They will be your...
The amount of cars you are doing is pretty light. I would suggest retractable mitters from PECO. You could prep by hand those vehicles with bike racks and not worry about a thing. I think Lammscloth is so fuzzy that with its weight, it would catch on something and cause damage. You could also...
Is the wash self serve/coin op or tunnel. It makes a difference. There are a lot of variables that go into picking out a good site that makes money. Contact a few manufacturers or dealers to help you sort that out.
Those are all reputable companies. If equipment was delivered and installed, it would seem the operator only has the distributor to litigate with in terms of money owed as long as the contract was between the distributor and owner.
