$1 per minute seems fair to me!!!

I’ve started experimenting with boiling the frog slowly, and it seems to be unnoticeable. Was $3 for 4:30, then $3 for 4:16, then $3 for 4:00 in 6 months time. Going to keep inching my way to $3 for 3:00 in the next 12 months. I’ve observed the cash guys try to beat the buzzer and sometimes make...

Has anyone had Kleen Rite Soap issues?

I wonder if you have another chemical or something else backfeeding into the tire cleaner mix tank, causing the reaction? I have the same tire cleaner and no issues like that. I have had a scum issue but now I mix it with an alkaline powder and the problem goes away.

    Installing signs

Yes I've removed and replaced at least 2-3 times. Generally they will loosen when you run them in and out a lot, so just go up to the next larger size or stick 2 zip tie tails in there and run it in. The blue is also corrosion resistant, but not corrosion proof.

    Installing signs

Hey what’s wrong with tapcons? They hold up my foam gun brackets and various other devices. As for my signs they use the 3M VHB tape + good construction adhesive. Works so far and is a clean finish.

Tampered round steel vault door and now cannot get open.

Can you get the allen key on the bolt that rotates the vault pins? If so and it still won’t budge (try impact guns), you might be in for a new vault door and cement work.

Adding foaming agent to Simoniz Ceramic?

Interesting observation. I tried it again with just the weep flow and more ceramic seemed to stick to the car. So I think the technique is to dust the car with a mist of ceramic versus blast it as I did in the video. Time and usage will tell if this is something I want to keep. I came from KR...

Adding foaming agent to Simoniz Ceramic?

For closure, here is what ~200:1 Simoniz Ceramic looks like through a HP gun without any foaming agent. Looks good enough to me so I won’t add any. First car I washed with ceramic the result was meh but it had flaking clearcoat. Hoping a shinier car has better results.

Adding foaming agent to Simoniz Ceramic?

I will be trying Simoniz Ceramic Sealant on a 6 bay self serve soon. I plan to run it through the HP gun at about a 200:1 final dilution. I'm anticipating this won't show anything on the car, so I was thinking of adding the Simoniz foaming agent to show that it's working. Does anyone know if...

    Call me crazy

I was in a similar situation, and figured out a way to run older KR ultra concentrates in presoak, HP soap, and tire cleaner. I strain it and mix it with something with cleaning power, I’m using alkaline powder presoak Kemade B 2/3 to 1/3 old soap mixture and it works well. Cleans much better...

    low pressure pre-soak question

I know it takes a little more effort, but put your presoak on a low pressure gun. See the below link to another post where I have a video. After fighting with various delivery issues with presoak through the HP gun, this was a huge upgrade and very well used. Post in thread 'Presoak on Foam...

    quarter/dollar coin abuse

I went to $1 tokens (no quarters accepted) in January 2025, and got some cranky people complaining. (But sales is continuing up so I didn’t pay them mind) but in June I inherited 1 coin acceptor that would take both quarters and tokens so I said why not try. So I converted one bay to take both...

    Kleen-Rite Kleen-Pak Graphene Blast

Did you end up trying this product? I'm thinking of trying it in self serve in my HP Wax function.

    What is this vacuum part?

Thanks for the replies! The Turbo mode makes a lot of sense for needing these. But in my application it won't work. I have the below style filter housing on single door vacs and the check valve doesn't fit inside the filters. So in the trash they go I guess!

    What is this vacuum part?

Inherited a few of these with a car wash that has JE Adam’s 2 motor vacs with 2 filters that enter through the top. For the life of me I can’t figure out where they go if at all. Any ideas?

How many still at a $10 preauthorization?

I lowered mine on SS to $3 and it eliminated a lot of complaints. Never had a chargeback or issue with it.

    Call me crazy

It's like you took a picture of my motor room! I'm also in central VA (Richmond) and also inherited A-OK equipment in a run-down 6 bay SS wash a couple years ago. The original equipment was solid, but the previous owner rigged everything instead of doing things right. My journey.... 1...

Recommendation for Air Hose Replacement – Self-Serve Bays

This is what I used but in several different colors. I think the black is inherently uv resistant. I also tried some DOT tubing and they have a plastic coating that is the uv resistant and color; but this got hung on the push connect fittings and tore off so I didn’t go with that...

Recommendation for Air Hose Replacement – Self-Serve Bays

I ordered several thousand feet of nylon 12 from hoses and fittings .com and was happy with the quality. Longevity I don’t know yet.

Why do people hate Tokens SO MUCH?!

On this topic, I got this gem of a human give me (her?) feedback on my no quarter policy. Seriously though, there have been a number of customers with piles of quarters in hand that leave when they can't use them here. But not enough to invest in taking quarters; not even close.

    Anybody tried Universal boartex brushes?

I put one of the Boartex heads on SS 1 year ago and it has held up great. Already replaced the hog daddy next to it as it was looking worn. A little shinier than boars hair but on the car it feels the same.
