KR sells a foaming agent made by Simoniz that works really well and is inexpensive. I would buy it in Gal jugs and add to my liking. Whatever the amount of foaming agent i added i would subtract the water i would have added. Pretty simple.
Following. New to tunnel operation and was wondering how others handle trailer hitches. After watching what the wraps do when they hit the hitch, I don't allow them anymore. I yank them when I can. Cant be good on the hubs.
I have 2 (had 3) for 10 years and they have held up pretty well. With little work you can keep them looking new. SS frame work and rails are big plus. Really not that tough to work on. Easy to program and update. Some parts can be a little expensive.
Getting ready to install a 400K BTU Cambridge unit into our new 60ft tunnel conversion w/XRS doors. Have heard nothing but great things about them. We are now using a 250K BTU natural gas torpedo heater at the end pointing towards the entrance. So far ok running at 0 degs F. We load outside so...
Took mine off (3 x M5s) for all the same reasons as getnbusy. Never went on the same one wash to the next. I have been adding one color thru the arch. Rather than adding tri foam, you may want to consider the overglow retro. I added it to my remaining 2 M5 as part of my remodel. installed...
When we first opened our wash with 3 PDQ M5s we ran them with no doors. They have weep and we were able to make it through the winters. But not without extra work and worry. To this day the best money we ever spent was on doors, hands down. Keeps the bays free of ice(if you have heaters or floor...
My exits face the road that feeds the wash. I have signs posted over each bay exit (not on door) that say "open". I also have "doors open automatically" on the entrance doors. Also feathers banners go up out front that say "open". I find this works well for me. You could also put Windmaster or...
Earl,
Right now we have plans to install 2 top brushes. I would imagine that would allow me to keep line speed up since they clean better, correct?
Also how does the retract of the top brush affect cleaning of PU trucks? And does the mitter curtains get into the back of the PUs cause any issues...
We are finalizing financing and plans for our IBA to tunnel conversion and trying to make a decision on mitter or top brush. If you were to build a tunnel today, which would it be? Any other suggestions for equipment would be much appreciated! Tunnel length will be 60'. Thanks in advance.
I used Rain X the first 2 years I was open. Then switched to Weather guard by Diamond Shine. A lot less expensive, works great and smells good. I was told about the name recognition issue that may affect my sales, but my numbers have increased yearly since. So in my case, not worth the extra...
Agree on the Parker cost and the poor reliability/quality of the Fluid controls.
I have had great luck with the Paraplate 3/4 brass check valves. IMO design is better than Parker, easy and inexpensive to rebuild. I go thru and rebuild all my attic check valves once a year. Going on year 4 with...
My farthest bay is 32ish feet from the mech room. I'm assuming you are concerned about the plumbing in the troughs by the question being asked. I use a temp gauge with a min max read out to monitor my trough temps. I check it in the mornings to see what the low temp is over night. I have pipes...
