Great post, thank you!
I actually had worldpay for one year (I didn’t pick them, my processor I loved was bought out after I had used them for 15+ years) and it was a terrible experience. I won’t go into detail on the issues I went through but I ended up bailing. I now have had a GREAT guy...
Holy crap. You mean there are systems out there that you can’t see what time the customer washed and what bay the customer was in? I would die. With Washgear I can see eeeeeverything. It is the easiest, most user friendly system ever.
And I have never even thought about a kill switch on my...
Washcard does exactly one of the 5 things I listed (#3). We currently use washgear - going on 18 years I believe - and their product has been AMAZING. Now, with mag strips getting ready to be a thing of the past in the next couple years, we need to move to tap readers. I haven’t found any...
Guys.
Does ANYONE know of a tap system that has the following features:
1). My car wash name shows next to the charge on people’s statements.
2). I get to pick my own processor.
3.). The timer counts up when a card is tapped until the customer presses stop.
4). The pre-authorization amount...
Sorry, i
Sorry, I’ve been known to be unclear😄. I’m talking about Washgear. I’ve looked in to Monex and no way. I’m too spoiled picking my own processor, not paying any fees for the hardware, having my car wash name show on customers bank statements, etc.
3.5% sounds like the credit card “processing” fees that everyone has to pay, regardless of what equipment they use. I’m curious about the extra fees that Washcard takes.
Agreed. We are losing more and more transactions to people who leave because their mag strip isn’t working. We need tap now. I think you’ll be hard pressed to beat Washcard. Since I haven’t used their system since they started taking fees, can you tell me how much they take as a percentage...
We had Washcard the first 5 years of our operation and they do have a great product with great support. There were no fees tied to their product back then. When we decided to upgrade, the ONLY reason we didn’t choose Washcard was the ongoing fees that were tied to their new system. No joke...
They do fleet and loyalty and that’s been awesome for us. But they don’t have a tap option. We are starting to get desperate because our customers keep asking for it and more and more people have cards with mag strips that don’t work. But I can’t find ANY card acceptance hardware except for...
We had a processor for 20 years that we loved. Then they switched us to Worldpay (no idea why they changed). Worst year of my car washing career. I tried hard to like them and give them the benefit of the doubt, but wow. Way too many problems to list them all here - but needless to say...
We have been using WASHGEAR readers in all 3 of our car washes for 15 years (very harsh climate, butal winters, sweltering summers). 16 self serve bays and 2 automatics. They are absolutely the best. You own them outright and pay exactly zero fees to WASHGEAR. Being hardwired they are...
Good for you! My long time processor Itransact switched to worldpay and what a nightmare they are! 21 years of no issues and all of a sudden I had nonstop issues and worldpay couldn’t find their rear end with both hands. If I were you and things are working smoothly, I’d never switch to...
Oh! I didn't see these replies! I am not at my office right now so I'm not sure what the cost per KWH is, but I can tell you for sure that I will not be getting any subisdies. Apparently those are only for gas stations as they do give subsidies for lights that are mounted on the roof pointing...
We had the exact same problem on our original car wash that we built 17 years ago (we learned and built the next two with walls that never had to be painted or stained). Anyway, we looked into every possible solution and ended up using very tall sheets of white FRP. I was sooooo hesitant to do...
I'm considering changing out my current wall pack lights from 250W metal halide to 50W LEDs. Has anyone out there converted their car washes to LED's? The salesman that is trying to sell me on doing this has worked up some numbers and it shows I should save about $2,000 a year per car wash in...
So, here's the question, are any of my fellow car wash operators out there using social media to grow your business? I got an interesting call from a nice young lady that works at Main Street Hub. They manage your buinesses online presence for you, like yelp, google, foursquare, etc. The info...
Wow. Thanks for the replies! You have given me a lot to think about. I really think after reading the links "Diamondwash" gave me that I need to put up minimum clearance signs. In 12 years that has never occured to me! I have maximum height sign of course to protect my equipment, but...
