    Trash Problem

    Some negative feedback at first, some irritation and messiness, but that passed. We had open trash receptacles, and when asked we explained there was trash that we shouldn't handle, like broken glass, needles, etc. We posted signs that read, "due to illegal dumping we could no longer handle the...

    Credit card sales tax

    Which way do most of you charge sales tax in self serve bays using Cryptopay, purchasing the Crypto analytics that is programmable to collect sales tax, or programming the timer to charge extra to cover the sales tax. Also, is anyone charging extra to cover sales tax plus credit card fees.

    Trash Problem

    Take trash receptacles out and never look back. When we did that a few years back, I thought I would need a snowplow for daily trash clean-up, but it never happened. Almost all operators within about a 30 mile radius from us have done the same. Trust me, it will be one of the best things you...

    How to price and sell a wash.

    After 57 years of operation, my time is close.

    Credit card pricing

    All responses are a big help, thank you. One area is still a question for me. Apparently cryptopay is capable of a different price per quarter, thus a different pulse rate per quarter, in the count up mode, but not the count down mode. If one were to, for example, choose to set the cc price at...

    Credit card pricing

    Finally installing credit card acceptance in s.s. bays, and having trouble with some pricing aspects. For example, if I were to charge $4.00/4 minutes cash, can I charge $5.00/4 minutes credit card, which effectively changes the pulse rate per quarter thus charges more per minute for credit...

    Goldline door retrofit.

    I think I have read most or all of the posts on the retrofit door, but most I found are older. It is time for me to upgrade older gold line units. At this point, have the credit card readers been working smoothly. I have been told I need the DAN, another source says no. I think Roz has a lot of...

    using powder soap dispensed electronically

    Thank you. I am familiar with the unit you describe. We use that unit today. Ours is a Dillling-Harris low pressure presoak module that we converted to liquid presoak and eliminated the bladder tank. Our other system is a little different. We use powder for the main self-serve wash water, and...

    using powder soap dispensed electronically

    I dispense powder soap from powder to automobile in the following manner. Powder {maybe 30 pounds} added to a stainless hopper. Water is connected to the bottom of the hopper, holes at the top of the hopper. The water is allowed to enter the hopper when an electronic unit, which is connected to...

    360 onboard water replacement

    Two of my 360+ onboard water heaters need replacing. They have cracked a couple of times and I have had them rewelded, but now the elements are tired and can't keep up. Has anyone come up with a different replacement solution. These heaters are pricey, I was quoted a price of over $6000.00 each.

    Which Plastic wall panels?

    We have been in s.s. car wash business for many years. We started with Kalite frp. Over time it yellowed/ browned, even with cleaning with a mild mix of hydrofluoric every year. Other than the yellowing issue, it was a great product, easy to install with minimal wrinkling, loaded with...

    cam locks-source

    I am looking for a source of meter door cam locks that offers a selection of various lengths, cams, qualities of locks. I am refitting some older Dilling-Harris top cam locks, and am hoping to step up to more secure, rugged locks. Thank you for any information and ideas.

    Parking lot omelets!

    Try renting a steam jenny, we have had excellent results with removing paint from paving, etc. No chemicals, should work well removing eggs.

    Rowe BC1400-American upgrade

    Electroswitch rotary trouble

    Thank you for all the replies. Much appreciated. I've been using the plastic switch but am going to start using the metal switch referred to in the discussions, and will be using suggestions found here. My problem is with the plastic switch, which I've used for years, -- not a lubrication or...

    Electroswitch rotary trouble

    I have used the plastic 8 position rotary Electroswitch for many years. Most of them last 5 years or more. Currently, however, I am having problems with many of these switches. They are stiff when new, and become increasingly more stiff - hard to turn- necessitating changing them within 3 or 4...

    Problem with 573 Hydrominder

    I have the same problem with all new kits-the spring has a large and small end. I cut off one loop of the small end. The tolerances are too close to allow opening, and the spring piles up one loop, before cutting, and has been enough to stop opening at times. This works for me.
