I’m not a big fan of the way Vilco does there Cat pump head repair. I like the way the company Kleen-Rite has do the head repair where they press in the stainless sleeve. I still think you need to get to the root of the problem. How long has that head been installed?
I have to concur with Randy and Swampdonkey. If you think that your not expendable I got news for you, everyone is. A good business owner will have employees that he can trust whenever he is gone or away on vacation. We do what Swampdonkey does, turn off the phone when we go away for the weekend...
We use an electric garage heater like this one http://electricheatsource.com/Products/Commercial-Warehouse-Heaters/Compact-Unit-Heater we also have a backup gas brick heater in case we lose power. I think most people are totally unprepared for severe winter weather. We prepare for the winter in...
That pump head could probably be repaired. I would replace it. Let me guess you’ve throttled back on the water supply so the pump will draw chemical. This causes turbulence in the water, the turbulence causes air bubbles and it’s the air bubbles that erode the inside of the pump, like what...
If the machine just arbitrarily starts on its own and runs then I would have to say you’ve differently got a serious issue. If you’re so called PDQ distributor or PDQ can’t figure it out what the problem might be then it’s time to seek the help of a lawyer. The car wash industry is full of...
Someone on the forum awhile back installed a Nayax reader in his self serve bays. https://www.autocareforum.com/showthread.php?15098-Nayax-CC-installation he's dropped out of sight.
I hate to say this but only a fool would run a car wash without an alarm system, at a minimum a noise maker. We have alarm and camera systems at all of our properties. When you walk in the equipment room to alarm system begins to beep, you’ve got just enough time to get to the alarm panel to...
We used to use the Lamb VAL6336 vacuum motor until they got too expensive. We switched over to the Kleen-rite VMK19 motor and have been very satisfied with the performance. We change our vacuum motors brushes yearly, normally in August. Someone here on the Forum years ago, I think it was Randy...
I luv it to Earl. We aren’t going to hang out at the car wash all day and police the stupid, low life car wash customers who come to the self-serve car washes. Most Self-Serve car wash customers aren't the cream of society. If we didn’t own self-serve car washes, we’d never go to one.
You guys aren’t living right. That’s why we have “employees” so we can take a minimum of 2 vacations a year. I refuse to be a slave to the car wash, life is to short.
They look great. We are going to have to get off the stick and do some decorating next Christmas. The Kubota tractor store has a big tractor with Santa driving the large tractor being pulled by 8 smaller tractors with white lights on all the tractors, looks pretty cool at night.
We found that once they look tacky there isn’t much you can do to make them look like new again. We’d replace them and be one with it. The new face plates look better than the old faded white ones that they had. We just replaced a yellowed white plate on a bill changer with the newer style...
A couple of years ago we took Randy’s advice and shut the car washes down when it gets down into teens and not above freezing during the day. We don’t do enough business to justify staying open and fighting the elements for a few dollars. We pump the cheap windshield washer fluid from Walmart...
We have a Mars validator installed in a Hamilton ER-60 bill changer. Now that the warranty has just expired we are starting to have problems. The validator will cycle on and off while it is in standby. We bought another validator on EBay and all was good for about a month and now it is doing the...
All of our wands are galvanized, we’ve never had an issue with them plugging up or any other problems for that matter. I’m not familiar with the Superwash weep system. Does it cycle on and off like the Dixmor weepmizer staying on longer as it gets colder? I see you have 42 psi on the gauge, is...
Did you replace the tank check with the right tank check? I’ve replaced some tank checks that were bad out of the box. There was probably nothing wrong with the pressure switch you took off, I'd put it back on. You always want to use the same pressure switch that you took off. I always have a...
