It is a tunnel/conveyor wash that is open 24 hours a day but is only staffed from 9-5 daily. Our tunnel is about 80 feet long or so. I do have trouble with customers getting onto the conveyor. Most never even looked at the mirror...... Since this rehab, everyone pulling in is staring at it. I...
i forgot to add. the decals are the kind 3m makes for vehicles. i went to my local sign shop and had them make up the red arrows, the word bubble, and the letters on top of it. i also had them make me 3 door labels for the doors in my tunnel. the smiley guy sticker i had from when i had...
we have an older mirror that has kind of frosted itself from overspray for the last 12 years. it also had a bad spot right where you needed to use it to get on the conveyor. i decided to give it a second life by painting the frame in one of our branding colors of bright yellow and then add some...
A follow up to this....
I emailed the pdq engineer today about this and he responded that after checking their current on hand supply he found that i was right. The c clip used on these check valves are either not stainless, or not the kind of stainless they should be. They have used these...
I have PDQ g5 units and they have stainless steel check valves (3/8"m o-ring x 3/8" m-jic) that are located on the input side of the soap heaters. in some g5 models they are on a small manifold block just before the heaters. I have noticed lately that I have been replacing these things a little...
Danny did you fix this? If not call me tomorrow and i might be able to help you. Do you have the aluminum changeover valve that is air operated, or do you have the stainless steel one with the electronic danfoss valves on them? Im talking about the changeover valve the pressure relief valve is...
.15 each with a minimum order of 4000 units for $600 at smelly charms.... i found them at the car wash shows a few years back.

My gin san setup has the low pressure lines run along side the high pressure ones and just before they enter the self serve bay they pass through a check valve and then enter the high pressure hose. If that check valve has debris keeping it open i usually see the plastic low pressure lines blow...
What do you mean arch manifold? Can you use an electrical fish tape to kind of scrub out the inside of the pipes? Maybe take off one nozzle at each end and attach a pressure sprayer to one and blast high pressure water through it? If you mean the block in the bridge that the two soap heaters...
You have to see the pdq side blaster towers, they rise high enough to wet the whole car pretty much. They just dont directly spray the top or hood/trunk.
A local wash (not a competitor to me) had the old gatling guns from pdq that didnt work anymore. They considered adding pdq's side blaster towers (i have these at my wash) but because of the cost of them, instead they decided to design their own. They ended up using square stainless pipe and had...
Some of you guys in florida mentioned the need for a great trained tech, I know a guy who currently lives in New Hampshire here near me that is moving to Florida. He told me he is moving to the palmetto/Braddington area. He is not currently looking for a car wash work however he could be enticed...
I was told it was in the same box as the timer board. Yes itnis heat shrunk. Pm me and i will send you the info D&H sent me for how to bypass it. If your timer is bad you will need to convert the door like the other poster said...
Update, D&H says it could be either the timer board or the waterbuster board which when it gets wet shuts down the bay. He says it was a terrible design that instead of just shutting off power until dry, it usually leads to the waterbuster board itself shorting out and needing to be bypassed. I...
Never mind, I found my own answer in a manual on their website.... sorry! Unfortunately i think its the timer because it shut down while in use, and i remember the guy at dilling telling me if it ever failed i was screwed because it is obsolete....
4. “FAIL” SHOWING ON DISPLAY...
One of our self serve washes uses mostly dilling harris equipment. Not fun considering the history of the company. Im actually pleased with the way the equipment works, but fixing problems is always an issue considering most of the equipment is obsolete. So i have this one meter box that is the...
i wanted to update this a little. since I wrote my synopsis on industry consolidation, another local company has been bought out and merged with a larger one. that is new England car wash equipment in Massachusetts. they were purchased by Harrell's in a similar fashion as c.a.r. products was by...
