Cat 310 brass seal retainer removal

Well, I called Cat and they said nothing has changed. Must have had a string of bad luck lately. A couple of them literally sheared the brass tabs right off. They did say they get some in that they have the same issue with, but it isn't related to a thread compound.

Cat 310 brass seal retainer removal

I like to inspect the seals before throwing away to find the actual cause of the issue. I guess if it is green loctite (which is probably what it is based on the intended purpose), then I have to get the seals over their rated temperature of 170 F degrees since the loctite is rated for 400 F...

Cat 310 brass seal retainer removal

I don't think that's the case here. All are previously unserviced pumps. Here is a picture showing what looks like nothing on the lower threads, green on the middle threads, and red coloration on the threads that would be just outside of the head. No other signs of corrosion inside or out and...

Cat 310 brass seal retainer removal

Curious... I keep finding myself dealing with Cat 310 pumps that have the seal retainers seized into the head with what appears to be green locktite or similar. The compound is stronger than the brass is and the slotted gaps for the removal tool end up breaking/folding before the seal retainers...

Vector Issue / need some help

If there are cracks in the encoder, I would bet that's the problem. Same with a rusty buildup which indicates water in the enclosure.

Vector Issue / need some help

Are you sure the VFD doesn't have an error when this happens? Every machine I have seen that has that error (but without VFD errors) is from the encoder. The plastic cracks and allows condensation inside encoder and circuity goes nuts.

    Super 5000 troubles

Are you sure the treadle switch itself isn't sticking? Not sure if in previous post the switch mentioned is the actual treadle switch in the bay, or the toggle switch on the control cabinet. Both do the same thing.

    Forum......I have a problem???

I don't see any lights on the left plc, but the picture is from too far away to know for sure and what their labels are.

    Strange issue with Washworld Razor

I would third that the prox is damaged from running the plate. Usually when they are damaged, they will turn on from water (even with no metal near). By the time you look at it, it's dried out enough for the light to turn off again. I never trust any prox that has had the sensing head...

1st timer looking to build a 2-4 bay touch-less car wash in Southern California.

Yes, and on top of that, it's an absolute necessity to have an architect versed in the locale and an engineer for every trade there is... But only because it is required by the the governing offices. Most everywhere in southern California will require every single bit to be engineered /designed...

Picture of soap possibly in rinse water?

Judging by the title thread, your concern sounds to be that the pink flowmeters indicate soap in the rinse water. If those are drip lines, they are indicators of weep flow rate, not rinse water. It's possible someone replumbed those drip meters to something else, or possible that there is an...

    Belanger Saber two arm

The pendulum effect of a little slop in the long hanging arms along with a little wear in the aluminum drive components greatly exacerbates the software issue. You will want to make sure all the mechanical parts are good, then employ the delay on timer I mentioned or DakotaHoskins solution if...

    Belanger Saber two arm

The problem is the machine stops at the target no matter where it is located. The machine stops so hard and fast that it doesn't even end up covering the prox my more than a quarter inch. Then, a little bounce back inertia can make the sensor stop reading and the machine is no longer home...

    Belanger Saber two arm

I had a similar battle with Belanger for a long time and they acted like they had never heard if it before. Said I'm the only one they know of having that issue and it must just be a unicorn because it's a early machine and they said an entire new I/o system and touch panel would be required...

    SS bay soap

Did you mean waxes/protectants? I don't see mineral seal oil having a purpose as an ingredient in a soap/detergent. You are right though... If someone did put that in their detergent formula, I don't think it would work very well... Since the primary purpose of a detergent is to remove oils...

    Soap tank overfilling

Thanks for typing all of that 2biz. Wondering if it's possible the solenoid tests are disproving themselves by sealing under pump vacuum, but not under an idle situation... And maybe just a really really slow leak at that. (This seems not likely though, since the solenoids are backward)...

    Soap tank overfilling

If I understood it right, you have removed the pressurized cold water rinse feed option and only have gravity rinse from a tank? No weep system is installed since it wasn't mentioned? Does the hydrominder chain slack up over time, or does the soap only lean down? Does the tank ever overflow...

    Razor vs Petit 360i

Adding in a different neutral surfactant (a nonionic type for example) as a triple foam with a high pH product would potentially slightly lower the alkalinity level of the mix, but could add detergency to the solution... Definitely better to use as a dwell time buyer though.

    Razor vs Petit 360i

I disagree. The triple foam could be a detergent type. If you don't know the chemicals, yes, you could be putting an opposing chemical on top, but if you or your chemical supplier know their stuff, you could just be adding another surfactant that can assist with a different hydrocarbon chain...
