I have one location out of six that is direct drive. I hate it. If it were not for space constraints, I would’ve never installed a direct drive. Largest issue I have is vibration of the entire unit, constantly getting leaking fittings that need replacing. It’s also much louder than my belt drive...
Yup. Of all the chemicals, the KR purple passion is the worst. I stopped using it years ago. Would always turn gelatinous in the mixing tank and 5 gallon pail then clog up the foot valve and hydrominder tips.
I agree. I use slightly smaller than quarter tokens. They easily sort from quarters with my ScanCoin coin counters. We all know what a pain it is when a $1 coin stops the quarter counting process and having to remove the coin each time. Definitely choose a token smaller than a quarter.
Yes. You can program in different tokens at different values. I’m sure other acceptors like IDX etc. does this as well, I just prefer MicroCoin acceptors. I would call Kleen Rite and talk to customer service on what would work best for you. They’re always very helpful.
I also considered $4 for 5. Pretty sure in the market I am in, it will support that. Most operators now (in the nicer areas) are $3 for 3.5. I do like the idea of $4 to start as that will cost bucket washes at least $8 when all is said and done.
I’m currently at $3 for 4 minutes in my wash bays and $1 for 3 minutes vacuum. Zero complaints at this price point from customers and business is booming. I was planning on dropping bay time to 3 min 30 seconds at the first of the year, but now considering $3 for 3 minutes. Are any of you at $1...
I use air logic at all my washes, great product and massive air flow at the gun. I prefer their guns over the trigger system of air shammee, but honestly either way, you can’t go wrong. You’ll see a very nice increase in sales either way. Customers love the drying systems. One thing to consider...
I use the CT bi-metal tokens. They are valued at $1 and I believe now pay around .34-.36 a piece when considering shipping. I have around 5,000 a year disappear from my washes which is a nice little profit as well. All my coin acceptors are MicroCoun QL’s which play nicely with the CT tokens. I...
Well, after seeing your response and checking my records, I do see now the new 4 number assigned by apple. I had’t a clue this happened with apple wallet. Maybe add a small leaflet to each cryptotap explaining this to vendors. Most of us have been swipe customers for so long, that’s not...
Update: I tested three individual car wash locations. On one day at each location I purchased a wash using tap with the actual physical credit card. I was charged, and received my wash. The charges showed up on my credit card, Cryptopay and Worldpay. On the next day I purchased a wash using tap...
This is a bigger issue. It has to be an issue with tap and contactless payments with a phone. It’s now been three days. My credit card shows the two taps I did as settled. Nowhere in worldpay or Cryptopay analytics do the transactions show up. Not even the pre authorization. I was charged, I...
I have now seen an issue (in my automatic car washes) with my Cryptopay Cryptotap at two of my car wash locations where I pay with ApplePay using a Master Card tied to my apple wallet. The charge shows up on my Master Card account and the car wash activates, yet Cryptopay does not show the...
Those look like Ginsan vacs from Industrial Vac Systems. Order the security dirt clean out stainless cover kit and then alarm each cover with your alarm company. All my power vacs are done this way. Have has to deal with one attempt over the last couple years. Once alarm goes off on one, they...
Agree on the cost of employees. So, in that case, possibly a pay per call emergency support? When a site is down over a weekend that does thousands in sales, any operator would rather pay for weekend support than risk losing all those sales and having customers drive to a competitor because...
While Cryptopay customer service is excellent when available, I find it hard to believe there’s still no weekend help. Cryptopay, being so ingrained in the car wash industry, not having customer support over the weekend (our busiest time) makes no sense. What’s everyone’s opinion on this?
