When I redid all our floors (6 bays including an IBA plus SS aprons in front and rear) we looked for ways to reduce the cost. An overlay was discussed and all three concrete estimators would not do that approach unless we signed a paper obsolving them of any future issues with the floors. Not...
I have seen a few SS bay conversions and they never extended the bay. The railings for the TF just extended out the rear exit area. No doors!(in a place that has winters) just a simple TF wash. That said you can find a good lightly used Washworld Razor at a fully depreciated price and see how...
So all of the above is solid advice. CAT has some great videos on YouTube to change the valves and seals. First pump takes about an hour but once you get the idea it takes about 15 min per pump.
BUT the pump components may not be the issue. I did all of the above and still had a pressure...
Depending on the potential revenue the location it may be worth the investment to rip up the floors and install new heated lines. Costs about $10K per bay for concrete, pipes, and boiler. We did after our first winter. Huge difference and benefit.
They are nice and lite weight which many customers appreciate. They do not last as long as the Continental hoses as my customers can be hard on them I guess. They pinch and break more easily than I expected so we have moved away from them.
Register now.... don't miss the carwash event of the season on July 22nd, the Mid-Atlantic Carwash Association Crabfeast at Fisherman's Crab Deck on Kent Island, MD. How can you beat $20/person for a full crabfeast!
We are especially pleased to welcome our keynote speaker, Frank Downs, an...
Do not assume that an Express will make 2x the profit of a IBA/SS. Too many variables such as location, owner/operator, and the local demographics to be able to say which will yield the better profit. Managing people can be a headache unless you have very solid & reliable people (which is very...
It has been either raining, overcast & looks like rain, or in the 90s & humid.....feels like all of May and June, with July not much better so far...
Not great carwashing weather. Good for getting preventive maintenance done.
Last event at Guinness was fun and well attended. Look forward to seeing people at the Crab Fest. Last time we had about 100 owners and operators at this Chesapeake Bay side event.
No risk
No reward
Sometimes you need to take a leap of faith.
Cannot go wrong with a WW Razor. Very operator friendly and easy/quick to service. Plus you can control it remotely if necessary
Do not overthink it. Even the best Proforma sheets can be wrong.
So after replacing all the valves and the seals in both pumps and the fix not working g for more than a few minutes a fresh set of eyes (not mine) observed that the two pumps with issues are one the bottom of the hose run from the rinse tank. See pic
We took the hose off the pump and observed...
Learned something interesting today about our JE Adams vacs with Dixmor LED7 timers.
Had a vac that would display V7.42 error whenever we inserted money or used a CC.
Checked all the wires, removed components and replaced them with similar components from similar vac next to the troubled...
One way to reduce any negative feedback in public domain is to have a sign on building and in ALL equipment that says
Any issues call or text (your name) at (your number). If you have space we add that everything is run by computers and high tech, sometimes things can go sideways unexpectedly...
Good question. The reason we have a holding tank for rinse water is to have the ability to easily add hot water as an option. The hot water would go into the tank and you can add a heating element to keep it hot. We have not added hot water at this time but system was setup for it to be added...
So I have a similar issue with two CAT310 pumps. I replaced the valves and seals. Pumps now work great in washdown mode and without the handle pulled. In talking with CAT tech support they said the issue definitely sounds as if the pump is being starved for water flow. I then traced all...
May and June have been challenging months for many car washes due to crazy weather. Rain, heat, overcast days are not good for encouraging people to wash their cars. Also, after you have made some noticeable improvements you may want to promote new owner/management so please excuse any...
