Personally, I feel Express Detailing and SS washes are not compatible on many levels. Have you ever done detailing, Do you have an IBA?
If you just have SS bays, then I would start with doing some detailing and gauge what the demand is. Cheap and easy to roll out, then go from there.
You cannot do both. What is required to go back to a modem how yours are set up (there are two ways Unitec accomplishes this).
Why do you want this ability, for backup if the High Speed goes down? If so I have a better solution for that.
I have 8 SS bays and no problems...however crime here is low and we have a very extensive cam system with license plate recognition. Anybody who has done anything here in the past couple of years has been caught...so word gets around fast that your leave my carwash alone.
cwguy,
I have a couple of different ones, GV800 and a 1420. The 1420 is a Chinese knockoff that actually works better than the authentic geovision card and was $200.
My WashPay system from Unitec, like many others does the cash monitoring for me. Over the last few years I've upgraded my cameras for better visual monitoring (along with plate recognition). I also have it posts snapshots of all my cameras every 30 secs and I view that on my browser to get a...
Ric,
A lot of powders are in the $50 range for 50lbs box that makes 55 gallons. The KR Correct https://www.kleen-ritecorp.com/p-2667-simoniz-correct-50-lbs-hazardous-material.aspx is $46 a box and has sufficient surfactant not to require any. Add taxes and I get free shipping...about $1/gal
Jeff_L,
If you mix with warm water, it does seems to stay mixed as Waxman has pointed out. I have purchased some barrel mixers for my site, but before they arrived, I just used a cordless drill and a paint mixer adapter and my guys would mix it every day...took about 10 secs each time. So if...
On a regular basis I get local chem suppliers sales staff visiting or calling. Before they even start talking I tell them I pay a buck a gallon for my presoak...which I know is usually 10 to 15 times cheaper than they sell it for. That usually stops them in their tracks. However, some of my...
LED are still too pricy for me. I recently swapped out my six 250W MH for six T5 HO dual lamp vapor proof fixtures I got from Kleen Rite.
More light than the MH and 1/3rd of the power consumption. Not to mention that the bulbs are much cheaper and much fewer problems firing.
I too have switched to power from liquid along with Waxman's helps and collaboration. I was using a liquid presoak and HP soap in the SS bays and IBA that cost about $400/55gal drum. I now use either Super Kleen or Correct from KR...all between $45 & $65 per 55 gal drum. However I do put out...
I am told by the people at KR that Kleen Rite Super Kleen Powder and Trans Mate Wonder wash TM057 are the same product. Is that what you've been seeing?
Lots of good points here. I have built my website from scratch with just the info model (no selling, booking, etc). However I do maintain a few sites for some local sports teams and some friends.
I think if you are not "web savvy", I would look at building a website through a provider like...
I was looking at ways to control access to locked areas (change machines, IBA entry systems), perhaps event doors. But my experience with entry systems are that they are expensive and tedious to maintain.
So I was wondering what you guys do?
One product I saw was the new Medeco ecylinders...
Robert,
I have one standalone IBA that does well...I wish I had two. Here to change over a SS bay to an IBA (a decent one), I'b be looking at $150K per bay. So to add three more I'd be looking at $400k plus. Hard to imagine I could recoup that, not to mention the difficulty in adapting the...
Robert,
No argument here and it is something we are looking at (converting a SS bay to another IBA), but that would still leave me with 7 SS bays)...so a different discussion if you will.
Back to MEP and Earl...I agree with your comments too. I'm always looking at new ideas for my carwash and...
Saw an ad for the new Karcher power squeegee WV50

It got me thinking that this could be applied as a SS option. Perhaps even using my existing 3-motor air shammee's suction end, if it was mounted in a canister, or just in a powerful shop vac...
