Cost of upgrading to a larger water line

I have a 1.5" meter and I have been and am trying booster pumps. If my next booster doesnt do the trick then i will have to consider upgrading the line. No room for a storage tank. I can get the pressure. Just not the volume I need at this point.

Cost of upgrading to a larger water line

I have come to the conclusion that we will likely need to upgrade our incoming 1.5" water main line to a 2" or 2.5". Likely looking at replacing the line from the street, upgrading the tap with the city and running the bigger line into the wash for more volume. We have approximately 100ft...

First time buyer--- need help estimating gross revenue.

I did this when we bought our wash. I went to the city who supplied me with the records. Keep in mind that being in Ohio he likely runs a weep system that prevents freezing in the winter. Those systems use a lot of water not used for washing cars. I would use only the warmer months when you...

    Any Hamilton XE gurus?

Yeah maybe a poor choice of words. Given the build quality of the ACW4 that we used to have and Commander that we have now I would have thought that Hamilton would have come up with a validator that was more reliable by now. The CPI cashflow validator that we have now has so far seemed far...

    Any Hamilton XE gurus?

Many on this forum have used the XE and a lot still do. I have had 4 of them. They are finicky workhorses. For long periods of time (3-4) months I wouldn't have a single issue and then for the next 3-4 months, constant problems. I switched them out regularly and had them serviced by a...

    Floor Heat boiler puked...replacement options?

We have loved our condensing Lochinvar Knight Wall Hung Boiler. Super efficient. We also have a 3ss 1iba and the gas bill is reasonable even when it's 10 degrees outside everything stays ice/snow free and the auto stays warm enough too with the doors down. The boiler modulates so precisely...

Goldine or 4/5 conversion for Crypto

I will stick up for kbergeth here. He and I have talked several times over the phone. He checks out. Also he bought parts from me and his check cleared. He seems totally legit and is just looking for help getting his place in working order.

    Backup heat

Weather is supposed to get real nasty here today (Michigan) and for a LOT of the rest of the country. I would love to have one of the Mr. Heater style that 2biz mentioned and a lot of others have already. I'm running out of room on the equipment room walls though so I have to get creative. In...

    Hamilton HTK bill validator issues..

Unfortunately this is a common issue with the XE validator, which I assume is what you are running. We found the best way to avoid is to have a few validators that you can switch out if one isn't working. Keep them spotlessly clean and don't overtighten the screws after cleaning. Have them...

What brand do you use Ryancross11? This seems like a good idea for us too.

    NEW AUTOMATIC BAY HEIGHT?

We squeezed a razor into a bay that is 25'4" long (from inside corner to inside corner). The bay is 15'1" wide and 11' high. We had to cut the rails slightly but it fits and washes most everything except long box crew cabs. Our driers are on the outside.

    General question on car count

If I were in your shoes right now I would estimate $5 per self serve wash and $10 per automatic wash just for round numbers on a gross for that time period. Those are conservative but will get you in the ballpark.

Valuing a nearly abandoned SS site

12k for install labor and around 11k for electrical. I would figure on 25-30k total to be safe.

Valuing a nearly abandoned SS site

This may get some responses because he was not always the most tactful member on this site (he used to be very active on this forum but has not been active in quite some time.) I do not say this to disparage him in any way because I have a lot of respect for his knowledge. We used Robert...

Valuing a nearly abandoned SS site

Yes, we are very happy with the outcome. That was four years ago now and I would do it again. We tore out an old Hydrospray IBA when we bought it and installed a used Laser 4000. About a week ago we tore out the Laser 4000 and will be installing a Razor in about a month. I will say that a...

Valuing a nearly abandoned SS site

Others have said it already but it bears repeating. This place is VERY likely only worth land value. No history of past business and major mechanical fixes to be done means that everything there is a potential liability/junk. The business value has to be proven by the previous owner, not...
