The first question that pops into my mind is why you are considering getting out of the rental properties? Are you tired of the business? Are you trying to strike while the iron is hot? Are you the sort of entrepreneur that likes to establish a business, sell it and go to another one? Are there...
I can speak from experience in that we tried a self-service unlimited membership. We charged $19.99/month for $30 worth of time. We used Washgear gift cards. We allowed one's unused time to carry over. My father was the one who wanted to implement it. I was against it. I ended up being right for...
Biden figures in because he's been president during the the same pandemic as Trump. Let's not forget Biden ran on his secret plan to stop COVID. Then he gets elected and says, "There's nothing I can do to stop the trajectory of COVID." He lied about it.
And who are the experts Trump should've...
One of our washes uses them. We were shown how to use them from Washtech (now under the Sonny's umbrella) what to do. I believe Unitec makes them. I'd try them.
The roll-out of the gift cards have been a cluster-you-know what from Worldpay. Here's a thread about it:

I put negatively. Maryland has us shut down for six weeks. Things have been since, but I don't believe it has to do with COVID. I believe it has to do with what has been a great weather pattern that has enabled pollen and salt to do their thing.
He says they are temperamental and that when he ordered parts to fix one of them, it took a month and his machine was closed the whole time. Personally, if I was him in that latter situation, I'd be hitting up every car wash owner and distributor to get it.
Something to consider is competition: where you rank among them and what they offer. If you're the number one guy in town, it makes no sense in my mind to switch from a friction model to a touch-free model unless you see things trending that way in your area.
Our three car washes are touch-free...
I know what you mean. If I had a dime for every customer who said on a busy day, "I wish I was in this business," I wouldn't be in this business. I'd own a private island the size of Australia. Then there's the oversell aspect from the vendors in the industry. They make it sound like any car...
Your post makes a lot of great points. Sadly, so many people think it can't happen to them and that if it does, they can go to a doctor for a pill or to a surgeon for surgery.
The short-term situation point you made brings me back to the "two weeks to flatten the curve." If masks were going to...
My big concern with masks centers around suppressed immune systems. Eventually masks are going to come off, and when they do, so many of the sheep you describe, Mac, are going to come down with sicknesses. Then that will be used as an excuse to push mask wearing more. Heck, I read an article - I...
Our supplier (Washtech/Harrell's) was sold to Sonny's. We were told they were not going to sell Advantage, the only Lustra chemical we used. We switched to Kleen Rite Track 2A and 2B, which is working well for us at a cheaper cost. We were then told we could buy Advantage again, but we'll stick...
What would you be doing? I myself would have been a teacher. I have a teaching degree. What happened was the lure of the family business was too much for me to turn away.
