I'm about ready to try a new ccp and posted a few weeks ago about trying berry dry - seems like quite a few people have given it a shot. Anyone out there try Warsaw's vanilla clearcoat? Is this a step up/down from the berry dry? I think they have it in an oil free formula as well.
Thanks in...
Nick,
Rochester is saturated - you have W.E.T. putting in lasers everywhere, Delta Sonic, Buckmans etc. I would take the advice of one of the other forum members and look into buying an existing wash - that way you will not be adding to the over-population in a city and county with dwindling...
I do not believe so. These things go in cycles and the 90's had a huge gain in touch-free IBA's, now you see many friction IBA's.
As it is now, if an operator wants a touch-free wash, they will pretty much have to install an IBA. I don't think you'll ever see a touch-free mini tunnel due...
I have a difference of opinion with most when it comes to charging more for what I consider "basic cleaning." I believe front ends and rear ends of vehicles should be as clean as possible on any given machine, and on any given package. Generally, I think the entire body of the car should be as...
I've seen this with some IBA's. Namely, the PDQ Tandem and the new PDQ Laser. They call it a flash dry. In the IBA, it saves passes/time, as you are rinsing and drying during the same pass over the vehicle.
Seems like it would be reasonable to replicate this in a short tunnel where you do...
The last time I charged $3 for and IBA wash was in 1987. It was the basic wash on a Southern Pride Turbo Wash that consisted of two passes of presoak, and two passes of high pressure. No spot free, no dry, no wax or undercarriage.
At that time, with that package, with chemicals and utilities...
I saw this youtube video of a new mini tunnel by Sonny's. They packed a lot in a short space - 35'.
If I had something like this, I'd rather see the hp wheel/rocker spinners before the wraps. Also, I'd like to see if they could squeeze in a pair of small rocker panel brushes. Only one...
Yes - you are right - I should have specified that I was talking about the traditional thin diameter style - especially with some of the larger tires on todays vehicles.
A tire brush will not clean the entire side of a tire, anyway. If you think of the sidewall as from where it meets the wheel, to where it meets the ground - the curvature of the sidewall and the fact that the tire brush itself is round - at best you'll only cover the middle third or maybe half...
Thanks - two more questions:
1. Is that an mso free sealer/DA?
2. Is that the same product that they sell at the car wash superstore called "Platinum Plus" Drying Agent/CCP?
Thanks.
Mike
As the car is driving in, I see the green tire/wheel chemical, then what appears to be a medium pressure water spray from a stationary manifold - also as the car is driving in - what is the function of that?
The whole wheel rocker area is blasted with hp on the first pass of the machine -...
That makes perfect sense. Also the fact that all the packages are separated by $2 does not make it appear that the top one is a bigger jump than all the others.
Not sure about pricing in your specific area, but one method I have always employed is making the top wash look attainable and as if you are getting the best value by purchasing it.
When you price 9, 10, 11, 13 or 8, 9, 10, 12 - you are asking the customer to spend $2 more to upgrade from the...
Obviously, the hotter it is, the quicker it will remove them. You just have to balance the cost of a few extra seconds for your employees to spend on them (if it is cooler) vs. the increase in cost of utilities to heat the water (if it is hotter). Also consider if time is a factor, and if you...
Have not used fonic wash, but do use other JBS chemicals. Both the chemicals and the people are first rate. Yes - I did write a review for them on the forum.
Reds,
Sorry to hear you have been sick. I wish you well.
Do you have any cameras at the wash? That along with signage indicating that pickup beds must be cleared prior to washing and that any debris left from an uncleared bed is subject to penalty - could at least give you some legal ground...
