Wash select II locks up?

I finally ripped the WS11 out and put in a gold line and no more problems going on 8 years now! I replaced every part in the WS11 and problem never resolved … maddening … good luck tracing it down.

Almost every time this has happened to me it is eventually traced back to a power issue. Either a connector is corroded or something is drawing too much power. I've got one now that I have to bang on the back of the unit where the power supply is located and it will work for a couple months. A friend of mine re-landed all wire on the power supply connections and his problems went away.

Yes the old Fonzie trick works everytime at least temporarily lol 😂. That worked on mine also. I never did run new wiring to it at that point I was over chasing the ghost.. but I’d guess that’s the only thing I didn’t try

Bumping this post for a possible aid. I still have a sporadic problem every few weeks/months (haven't tried the light bulb trick yet). I bought a contact cleaner called deoxit d5. It's really the only contact cleaner that I have found that claims to actually remove oxidation. Most other contact cleaners just mention a general cleaning ability. About a week ago one of my WS IIs cashiers started having the same old problems. I broke this stuff out and sprayed some on my pins on the cryptopay piggyback board, the WDSII display board, as well as the ribbon cable and board females. I plugged everything back up and it fired right back up and the problem hasn't come back. It's early in the process but we will see how long it helps. You can clean oxidation off the male pins with a pencil eraser but I was looking for a solution to clean the female connectors. Anyway, I thought some of you might want to try it.

I just ordered another variation to try (d100) from the people below and it includes free express shipping for the same price as buying it from Amazon. It's expensive but a little goes a long way. I'm going to have to try this stuff on a cryptopay button the next time one goes out. They sell several different products and honestly I'm still a bit confused about the differences but D5 includes both a cleaner and protectant and is a standard in the music industry for cleaning potentiometers.,
