An attendant during peak times goes a long way in putting a name and face to the business. I would recommend the owner and wife ,girl friend etc. Also put complaint forms and your contact # close to changer and or equipment room door.

IMHO, Grand reopening with free car washes, 1st impression make sure everything works. If your using Tokens give them away to customers that do not want to wait in lines. I partnered with coca cola and had give aways that was a plus. Lots of options.

Maybe consider taking out the vacuums altogether if your going free and eliminate the maintenance issue. There are ss operators that have eliminated trash cans too. Hard to turn a profit when giving away a service that has maintenance expenses.
