Finally a credit card reader that accepts tap and chip cards

2% fee? I think not. Monex is a great hype company that doesn't pan out once you start digging into the details. Beware of their marketing verses reality. Of the 8 units i bought from them, 5 failed and needed to be replaced within 2 years. It makes me glad i sold the car wash.

    Monex cc machine?

2 of them had one of the push buttons quit working. 1 kept freezing up and needed powering up/down to reset it. the other 2 just quit working and didn't restart even after powering up/down. 3 different problems. It was a pain because i had to pull each one out and send it back, then install the...

    Monex cc machine?

As a canadian i can give you my opinion of monex first hand. I installed 8 of their units. In the first 2 years i had to replace 5 of them due to failures. They were covered by warranty, but still i don't have a lot faith in the hardware. They were WAY overpriced at $1195 canadian. The other...

    partnerships working out

I sold my car wash last month to 2 partners. The cash component is in the 150k range. I wonder what the odds are that 1 partner ends up doing more work than the other, becomes resentful and starts pocketing extra cash from the split. I didn't know if anyone had info on how partnerships worked...

    Kleen-Rite for Canada

Underaker II is right. I also place a large order from Kleen-rite once or twice a year. You can figure that the canadian supppliers add roughly 25% onto the cost of what they buy from kleen-rite. Sometimes more. Once your in the business for a few years you pretty much know what you need to...

    Fragrance pick up tubing issues

The problem isn't the tubing, it's the product. I had the same problem when using the Kleen-rite house brand. It made the tubing as brittle as a potato chip. It is using a strong solvent instead of true oil base. After i changed to the magic mist oil, the lines went back to their normal flexible...

GINSAN RO Canister End Caps Leak

I torque them at 55 inch pounds. The spec is 65 but I deduct 20% when using the liquid sealant. I actually contacted Dan at Ginsan but he couldn't see why this was happening. Replacing the housing isn't likely to help if they use the same caps.

GINSAN RO Canister End Caps Leak

I have had the same issue with the end caps cracking. I have used a torque wrench and still have them crack. If they aren't tight enough, then they leak around the threads. It's been really annoying, as they last about 1 year before cracking. I posted this problem here on the forum about a year...

Cleaning Vacuum Coins from collections bins

Here in Canada, I think we have a much more generous welfare system than you guys in the U.S. A single person collects aproxx $600 month U.S for welfare (short term) and $ 900 U.S for long term disability. Is that more than in the U.S? We also have a bunch of free food banks and social housing...

Cleaning Vacuum Coins from collections bins

The good thing about being in Canada is that we have $1 and $2 coins that get sucked up into the vacuum. The amount of change is really a function of how busy your vacuums are. I'm lucky that the bums and meth heads don't know how much change there is and haven't discovered the vacuums as a...

Cleaning Vacuum Coins from collections bins

If you have to clean them out, why wouldn't you pick out the coins? I average $ 30 in coins for every cleanout. I rinse them off in the tub sink and they come out fine. It's my way to get paid for doing a dirty job.

    General Pump Question

I have the PEHT2214 and the GPHTS2215 and really like them. The Emperor line is far superior to the CW line of general pumps. I have had the GHPTS2215 in for over 10 years with the original packings. I run hot water at 120 degrees also. As my CW2040's die I'm replacing them with the Emperor's. I...

    Hiring a Person

I had a senior fellow who walked by my wash every day. I started a conversation with him and the rest is history. He worked for me for 7 years. Best worker I ever had. Seniors are the most reliable, don't spend their day glued to their phone and are usually the most honest people out there. They...

    Manual blowout system

hi andy, It wouldn't be a problem hooking up an air line from your compressor to blow out the lines first. Any utility pump should work to fill the lines. It's a question as to if you want to do it every cold night. You do want to have your wash open every day in the daytime. I have customers...

    Manual blowout system

Hi Andy, I'm in Kingston, just down the road from you. I hate unfreezing bays, you get busted fittings, guns, so I let the water flow. The issue with the water reclaim is that the water temp keeps getting colder and colder as it recycles. You also have electricity costs and need to plumb it so a...
