Need all new equipment, everything !! Bought a closed down car wash in Pasadena, Texas

I’d much rather have 5HP motors on the self serve pump stand instead of the 3 HP if that is an option. Customers will appreciate the extra pressure.

Clearance Signs on Self Serve Bays

I just added these clearance bars recently. Lots of boom trucks and backhoes with drivers who don’t have a clue. Hopefully these bars will get their attention. I’d rather not have customers who are cutting it real close on the clearance. More likely to do other damage like hang a hose or...

    Is this Kleen Rite Equipment???

I purchased the Hydro-Spray pump stands from Kleen-Rite and installed them in an 8 bay. Mine are belt driven and have Cat 310's. I installed them over four years ago and have had no problems. I'll use them in other locations in the future.

Secret to putting push-lok fittings on

The Oatley pipe lubricant is water based and is safe to use on hose. Works better than dish washing detergent which I have used in a tight. The pipe lubricant is mainly used for lubing the gaskets on water and sewer pipe. I’ve used for years and even more now as my grip is not what it used to...

Secret to putting push-lok fittings on

I've used them all over the years and haven't found anything better than John Guest fittings. I also use their tubing which seems to last longer.

Billboards on your property. What do you get paid?

I get $2000 a year for a site with about a 15K traffic count with a 10% increase every 5th year. Used to get $2500 yearly for a site with a 19K traffic count before selling location. Both static signs in rural areas. Digital signs pay better.

Does Having a Leaf Blower Help at Your SSCW?

I use the Stihl BR600 backpack at my washes. Keep at each location for daily use. Might try a larger model after they wear out. Attendant's sweep up trash and then blow out bays and lot. I've been using the Stihl's daily for 20 years with very few problems.

    Cleaning Wall Paneling in Bays???

I've always used Klenztone from K & E Chemical on car wash walls and for cleaning concrete around vac islands. Works good and a lot safer than HF. I apply with a pump up sprayer. Also works great on painted epoxy walls.

    Kleen Rite

I've been having trouble with Kleen Rite vacuum hoses splitting after a few months also. I used to replace them because they were worn and dirty looking from wear. Now I'm throwing away practically new hoses due to splitting.

    Air compressor

I bought a Saylor-Beall a couple of years ago for a busy 8 bay. It was about $2600. Very heavy duty compressor that is by far the best that I've ever owned. Also use the Kobalt's and Husky's. I've had the box store brands last from 6 months up to 7+ years. I always keep a spare backup...
