Gated Self Serves (one price wash concept)

Hello all,

I'm working on a piece for the next issue of Self Serve Carwash News that will take a look at how far the gated SS concept (where the customer pays a set price for unlimited wash time) has come (or hasn't come) since SSCWN first reported about it back in 2007.

My take on POP is it has not been as successful as previously reported.

Otherwise, operators would have drunk the cool aid and POP would be well on its way to ubiquity like express exterior did.

It’s been seven years and arguably POP is not wide spread at all.

Given the current state of the self-serve segment, I would not expect this to be the case.
