Vacuum fails to stop after timer ends

Hi all, recently started doing work at a carwash nearby for a family friend. I am a plumber currently having issues with control wiring. Recently a third party installed vacuums (brand/model escapes my mind), and bay 3 of 7 has an issue. When the timer on bay 3 runs out, but is left on vacuum, it will run indefinitely until switched to a different setting and back. I understand there are probably a million possibilities, so if anybody is willing, I'd love to talk.

Thanks for your time,
Nathan.

If nothing has been fooled with it's most likely a bad timer. A picture of the vacuum or a brand/model name would be helpful. If the timer has a visual display get us a model number off it, the timer may be built into the display.

Be warned that a bad vacuum motor can potentially take out a some timers if there is no fuse or relay. If it's a display timer that's not a concern, there will be a really somwhere

It's a DrainVac DV1R12-CT

You need to check the relay that activates the vac motors. If it is an electronic relay like a Godros or tolidine the timer has leaky current coming out the output to the coil circuit the electronic relays can detect a low current signal and keep the output on. This was a common thing way back when Fragmatic first started. Replace the relay with a real contactor 30 amps
