Vending Machine Service - Detroit MI

I purchased a vending machine about a year after I purchased the wash thinking it would be the best thing I ever did, wrong! It has been nothing but a headache. The coin mech went out, then the machine completely froze, busting all my aerosol cans and pop, only to find out the heater was never installed from the factory. I have been begging the warranty department for 6 months to get this fixed and still nothing. At the same time, the cooling unit went, it took 4 months to get the replacement, and the core has been sitting in my garage for 2 months waiting for a label. Their customer service is the absolute worst I have ever dealt with, literally phone calls and text go unanswered. Now the interior lights are out its just been a mess. So they are saying they cannot find a service provider in the Metro Detroit area that will perform the service. So my question is, does anyone know of a vending service company that services this aera?

all these things you can do yourself. I've done it and if I can do it I bet you can too. I replaced a coin mechanism, replaced the chiller, the lights are easy. None of these parts are proprietary parts meaning you should be able to get them from several different sources. There's a guy named Ryan Hershey from a company called snack attack. I think he probably sells all the parts you will need to repair this vending machine and I suggest getting in touch with him.

Sounds like he's trying to get it fixed under warranty, might have to jump through hoops to get the warranty.

Hello,

I didnt want to throw them under the bus, but its AMS Vending. You are correct, trying to get this done within there worthless 3 year warrant.

AMS makes a pretty good vending machine. Did you buy it from a distributor or directly?

Randy,

I thought so to, but I have had nothing but problems. I understated and respect things happen, but the warranty is absolutely terrible. I purchased it through Rain Tunnel, which Rich as been decent. I have been dealing with Mike B & Chris at AMS. Almost never get a call back or a straight answer just a "ok we will let you know" I finally was put in touch with someone who could get the "job done". I have been working with him since March 19 and still do not have any answers on my heater unit. Its outrageous to me they forgot to install it and I'm begging for help. It took until July 22 to receive the cooling unit which I switched out the same day and requested a label. I am STILL waiting on a simple label. I make a point to text and follow up with every Wednesday and Friday and still nothing. I have a $10,000.00 brick in a few weeks if we do not get the heater fixed. I can remove the pop and aerosol but then all the wipes and other products will still be extremely cold, but again why should I have to. I suggested, if you cant fix it, just send me a new on and I'll send this one back. I was literally laughed at. I still have one year left on the warranty but honesty what good is it.

I did not want to mention the name, but it is what it is. I'm one to NEVER trash and business but this is an experience I have never had. To further my point, this was my last resort. As the nights get cooler I get more nervous that freezing temps are right around the corner. I do not have the time as my main business picks up. I was told they cannot find a vending service tech in Metro Detroit, I said that cant be.

Which AMS vending machine did you buy? Your warranty issues should be with Rain Tunnel and not with AMS directly. Is the coin mech that you had to replace a Coinco? Did you have to give them a credit card number when you replaced the cooling compressor unit? The lights should be LED’s and should not fail for year. I’d put a small electric heater in the bottom of the vending machine until I got the heater issue taken care of.
The AMS distributor for Michigan is Shaffer distributing

This is just one of many companies that popped up when I typed in vending machine repair Detroit Michigan.
This is who I buy my machines from. Great people and great vending machines. My oldest machine is prolly 6 years old and has done nothing but collect money and dispense products.

Thanks for contacting VendTek tomorrow.

Randy, I purchased the Mega-Vendor III. Every issue I've had has been forwarded to the manufacture. Rich has always called me back and been helpful so I cant dog him really. But he forwared me to a high up who I've been dealing with. Yes, it was a Coin Co who replaced the coin me, but again I had to handle everything. Why would I give them my Credit Card number? Yes, nothing, especially the LED lights should fail for a few years but I understand things happen.

I like the heater idea, but again I shouldn't have too! I paid 10 grand for this thing! It has been a problem since the winter of 23-24, I let it go as I had a lot going on, and we had a mild winter. This winter 24-25 it froze up on me about 4 times. I have been dealing with my contact since March 19th. It is unacceptable for it to take 6 months to figure this out. It took me less time to purchase the wash! Especially when the admitted it was built without the heater, they messed up! Hoping VendTek can service this because this has been the new excuse as "no one in metro Detroit works with AMS"

Randy,

Absolutely nothing! Schafer cannot service my location.

I haven't been able to get anything from my rep and ams wont retun my calls or email.

Couldn't you just throw something like this in there? I don't see why this is such a big deal. I've been heating the inside of my Hamilton auto cashier and Hamilton change machine with a lightbulb for many many years. It works fine.

I realize that you feel that this should be fixed under warranty but at some point you may just have to give up on that idea and take care of it yourself

WaxMan,

Thanks for the info, that might be what I end up doing. I spent $10k on this machine and ordered it with the heater. It should have been a seamless operating machine. They admitted the machine was built without it. I paid $375.00 for the heater that wasn't installed. It really has nothing to do with the money per say. I have gotten no where with them, so what does there warranty mean? I have 14 emails that AMS has not responded to, and I've called AMS and it just goes to voicemail.

Its just crazy, you guys made the mistake, offer me a solution. If what you suggested will end up being the fix, then send it to me. I'm refusing to send the cooling unit back, and now they are demanding it back. Kind of like if been demanding a machine to be warrantied for all this time.

Definitely sounds very frustrating. I understand how you feel. It's really disappointing to spend a lot of money and not get just what you were promised. Good luck and I hope everything works out.

WaxMan,

Thanks, and by no means any disrespect towards you! I appreciate the link you provided. If this is not resolved by October 15th I will suggest they just provided that to me. If not I will just by it and be done with AMS and Rain Tunnel.

Don't know if it's worth your time, but this sounds like a decent small claims court situation. And I'm pretty sure you can file in your jurisdiction and make them travel to defend themselves.
