What is this vacuum part?

Inherited a few of these with a car wash that has JE Adam’s 2 motor vacs with 2 filters that enter through the top. For the life of me I can’t figure out where they go if at all. Any ideas?

That's a check valve to put under a bad motor if one goes bad, the good motor will still keep the vacuum running. Without that the suction from the good motor will just get pulled through the bad motor and the vacuum won't work. Basically a band aid until the bad motor can be replaced. I can't find them anywhere, I guess they stopped making them.

Fragramatics three motor vacs called select a vacs have these. Standard mode only two motors run. You can select "turbo mode" and it turns on the third motor. They may stock them.

Thanks for the replies! The Turbo mode makes a lot of sense for needing these. But in my application it won't work. I have the below style filter housing on single door vacs and the check valve doesn't fit inside the filters. So in the trash they go I guess!

That part goes in the hole under the motor.
