Operators, NASA needs your help

Every now and then you come up with an idea that hits you like the proverbial ton of bricks. I was reading the morning paper about the problems NASA is having on the international space station with their brand new water recycling system. Been in operation, sort of, about a week, and they are having the usual startup issues most all of you have had to deal with. So what better way to help solve a bladder bursting issue, than to tap into the knowledge base here ! I am sending NASA an email linking to this topic in hopes that they recognize the wealth of experience that visits here. In the meantime, if you have read of their issues, and have any suggestions, let em fly, so to speak.

I don't know anything about turning urine into drinking water. :) However, if they want us to figure out how to stretch a HP hose into outer space to wash down the space station and give it a good shine, I'm sure they'll find the expertise on this forum! :)

Galen, this is the link. I sent this to NASA, but I'm guessing they get a lot of emails. I'm willing to bet that someone here has had the same issue with one of their reclaims.

?????????????Where's the BEEF??????????????

Well I'm really disappointed in the engineers across the state from me. I would be willing to bet that there are more operators here who deal with water recycling issues every day than there are at NASA. It is somewhat amusing that when you consider what they spent on this system(I've read somewhere in the millions) They have the same issues as us groundbound operators.

Same issues? No ... We have to pay for our systems, they send us the bill for theirs. So it doesnt matter if theirs doesnt work and costs millions.
