Hello, just got this Alarm 68 which is: on front boom pass, gantry home prox was sensed for 1 second. Front boom pass was aborted. And the boom didn't come down to wash the front of the car. This is a strange error to me because why Home Prox was sensed? shouldn't be sayin the Boom Eyes sensed something? Anyway made sure the Boom eyes connection are tight and cleaned the eyes with alcohol and see what happens.

The alarm is referring to the home prox on the boom, not the gantry. You probably have a bad eye or cable.

Thanks, Do I have Home Prox on the boom? Where? I don't see any Prox Sensor on the boom. I do see the Eyes with the lenses on both sides but not the Prox sensor which detect metal. Is the Prox Sensor inside the Boom, or no in the Gantry somewhere?

You potentially have a problem with the gantry home prox, which is pointing down towards the floor on the passenger side. Less than a Month ago you posted about having a problem with the home prox so I would start looking there. You may also have a potential gantry count problem developing so I would do a track test.

Yes it is on the passenger side, right above the energy chain in the gantry.

I think I figured out the mystery of Alarm68. It happens when customers go forward too much and when the machine asks them to back up, they barely do it. Their wheel stays on the edge of the treadle (see pic) which makes the machine to come too close to the home position. So the alarm is right, the home prox is sensed and rightfully the boom doesn’t come down so it wont hit the car. This happens more in summer time ( we are in Canada) when Exit door is open and customers tend to drive too much in.

  • Check the can eye and the eyes inside on passenger and driver inner sides of gantry for obstructions - dirty etc.
  • Angle of sun can cause problem for the eyes - close the exit door to see if it clears the problem.
  • See if the LED's on the optical eye react to a beam interruption or if they don't change.
  • Failing those it's probably a wire issue on one of those sensors
