Have an American 8001 pay station about 13 yrs old. The last 6 months it was being robbed on a 3 week routine during the wee hours. I have put a timer on it (8P.M.-5A.M) which has stopped it But of course I am loosing some business also.
They are somehow getting every coin out of the hopper. No marks, no damage and the bills are still in the Mars 2600 bill taker. No I don't have cameras. Any one else having this problem?

You're probably getting strung. Put up some cameras - you can get a complete 4k system for as little as $350.

Ron, Depending on the age of your Mars validator you could turn on the high security function of the validator, this makes the validator very sensitive and will lock up if it detects a stringing attempt. You could also give out tokens as change or disconnect the refund function of the ACW. Have you called American? They must be stringing the Mars validator with a $20 bill, building up a good amount of credit inserting a $20 and then pushing the cancel button. Find out if you disable the cancel/refund button from American.

Do you have your door switch hooked up?? If your door switch is not hooked up, someone could simply put in the programming code and hit dump to empty out the machine. NEVER unhook or leave unhooked the door switch. I test my frequently to make sure programming code can not be entered while door is closed.

Randy- cancel button can not be disabled. (as far as I know)
