Well I knew my Cat 530 needed repairs. Water was getting into the oil and it needed to come out of service to be fixed. I have several excuses for the delay; sewer repairs I did really sapoed my energy. But the problem got alot worse today. The pump lost pressure , blew the oil cap off and broke some bearings out. Wow it was quite a sight at 9am Sunday morning.

Another problem; Cat 530’s really run flawlessly for years. Honestly, I think I changed oil twice in 13 years! You see, they make it too easy for slackers to ignore issues they should fix!

I'd replace it with a Arimitsu 313R or the 516R pump. I know a guy who can get you a deal on one.

Ahhh that can be fixed just fill it with bacon grease put some duct tape over the top and fire it up, should run like new.

There's a YouTuber who tests all sorts of things like different oils in engines - he ran an engine with bacon grease, and not only did it run fine and not lose compression, it cleaned the combustion chamber.

If something like that happens again, just change the oil every day with the cheapest non-detergent oil until you can get it fixed.

I ran car 530s for a long time. When they started to fail i started replacing them with arimitsu 516 for about the price of cat parts. I like the 516 better.

Ordered the Arimitsu 516 today. I got the pulley and rails as well, so installing shouldnt be too hard. Thanks to all who replied!

How about Arimitsu replacements for cat 2120
All of my 516s replaced Cat 310s or 5CP 2120. They are drop-in replacements. I think the 311 and 313 are as well. A nice side benefit of the Arimitsu is that it has 4 outlets, compared to 2 on Cats. It makes plumbing it easier and cleaner.

When I replaced my 530 with the 516 I ended up using one rail from the 530 and one from the arimitsu kit. This was probably just due to my unique setup of how the 530 pumps were mounted. Just an option if yours is not a direct drop in replacement.
