Crypto bay swipers not registering

Anyone have problems with crypto pay not recognizing the card
seems like lately couple bays are hard to get a swipe detected

am i missing some maintenance i could do
or after couple years are they no good , my hamilton swiper on auto been working for 20 years

I have not, but have only had crypto pay for a couple of years. Have you tried the cleaning cards to try and remove any build-up in the unit?
 
I had a swipe issue on one cryptopay machine, used the cleaning wipes made for card swipers and now use them every two months which seems to prevent issues on all of them. I test them with the attendant card after cleaning. I now clean the bill acceptors at the same frequency with bill cleaners. Heard that it is a waste but seems to keep things running smoothly.
 
Cleaning cards on a Mars acceptor are more than a waste since they don't clean the optics. The fluid chemicals in them are bad for the belts. I use a damp cloth and wipe them clean (Rollers, belts, all sensors and the stacker box) about once a month and have almost no problems with them.
 
My visa card works every time. Then a customer might swipe 10 times before it works or it may not at all. It seems when I have a customer that their card is not working, their card usually comes from the local small town bank. So I wonder if it might be the quality of the card.
 
I have to use the cleaning cards all the time on my crypto pay units.

Some cards seem to work fine, some don't seem to work at all. Frustrating, because I know I lose money!

Cleaning cards do help.
 
Change my acw5 to crypto but it charges customer but does not activate wash just keeps saying thank you???
Its all hooked up properly and controller is modified
pink wire to grn/rd stripe
brown to brown with black and grn/rd then yellow of to 24v
it rainbows
u swipe it says select push button charges card says thank you then nothingggg

to make a short story long
it crapped out on thursday went to get a new hamilton swiper my shop gave me the wrong one
by time i got to return they were closed and hamilton doesnt reopen till this thursday for invintory
i bought a crypto system months ago for the new station so i figure i put it in
wiring up was easy but the controller i was using has something wrong in the controller that doesnt except quarters/tokens or for that matter crypto because the same pink wire
so i pulled out a controller i bought on ebay years ago put it in and "memory data alert" poop
called randy and dan they its the dallasbatteryds1234y great i whats that.
So then i pulled another controller i had from years ago put it in it reads hooper empty and wont run upper display, as advised by dan i covered the hopper sensors with tape to fool machine into thinking it was really empty because the wiring in the conroler harness is wrong.
"for some reason this controller is wired for the old hopper and there is no place in the menu controller that lets u change it to new style
so once i tricked i made the crypto mod to it and it worked fine and to quarters/tokens but no upper display
so know i got three controllers infront of me if figure worse i can do is break em
i took the battery off the no quarter controller and put on memory data altered controller and it works just fine i also did not have to mod the controller because i guess the new ones already have more power for led
and the other controller works fine to if i tape up the hopper sensors
anybody need a hamilton 49-0560b and key pad let me know

takes about a second now

Even capital letters can make a big difference. If you get a text from a relative that you need to help your Uncle Jack off a horse but she doesn't capitalize...
