How can I test run my hopper? Or is there something I need to do, to solve this issue?

Try cleaning the brass plates in the hopper with a scotchbrite pad.

You can test hopper in the setup mode. Go to diagnostics, then scroll to dispense coins.

Where are those brass plates?
Also, how do I get to diagnostics?

Tilt the hopper out, empty the coins and you will see the plates.

To get into diagnostics, flip the toggle switch on the main board into setup mode, the scroll through to diagnostics, then enter, then scroll through until you see "dispense coins"
