I removed a R.O membrane because I thought it was bad. I installed a new one only to find out the problem wasn't the membrane. I put the old membrane in my R.O storage tank to keep it wet and under water. Years ago I took out a good membrane and stored it dry in my equipment room. When I went to use it, it had almost no flow and I had to throw it out. Has anybody stored a membrane in their R.O tank and successfully used it later?

That's not a bad idea. It should keep in there. I pulled a couple out of a system that were still good but the guy just wanted them replaced, so I sealed them back up in the bags the new ones came in. It was a couple years before I used the second one myself and it was fine. The first one I gave to another customer who was struggling financially.
