Today, my brother told a funny story that he experienced a few years ago. He and his friend "Billy Bob" were on their way to Chicago. They didn't know the exact location of the motel so he told Billy Bob to call them and get the address. He called and reached a man of an ethnicity prevalent in the lodging industry. Billy Bob initiated the conversation with this question.
"Where bouts y'all at?"
The reply was something along the lines that they didn't understand what he wanted. He repeated,
"Where bouts y'all at?"
Another similar reply was elicited. Exasperated and frustrated, he repeated a third time,
"Where bouts y'all at?"
After another similar reply, he covered the phone with his hand, turned to my brother and said.
"This stupid Son of a B%?&# can't speak english!"
