weep solenoid

I have an solenoid that buzzs all the time, im assuming its staying energized all the time!!? any input on how to check it or what may be wrong?

Weep solenoid should be energized all the time - it should be a normally open solenoid, energized to stop the flow of weep water. Power is removed to weep...

Do you have a weep mizer?

It won't hurt anything for it to buzz, but if it's bothering you make sure the coil isn't loose on the stem.

buzz, to me, signifies it is powered. embrace the buzz. it means it's working properly.

If you have to replace the solenoid valve replace it with ASCO 8210-G34 Normally Open solenoid valve. They are the best valve to use with your weep system. I just replaced my first one, after 28 years the diaphragm went bad. They are expensive but well worth the expense. Watch EBay you can sometimes find a pretty good deal on them there.

I did what Randy said and went with the asco red hat for my weep.

great advice, as usual!!!!!
