water tank sealer

I've got a square stainless steel tank that is leaking at the bottom. I got somebody in to weld it but it is impossible as the material is just to thin and there is also a smaller tank within the bigger tank with no access. I tried to seal it with a putty but this only helped a bit. I can't put another tank inside the leaking one as it is part of our recycle system with too many connections, etc. So I thought maybe if there was like a "liquid steel" that I could pour into the tank to cover maybe 1" of the floor that would seal it. Have you ever heard/seen anything like this?
Thanks.

OK..Guessed you debunked that! :D Although...How could it be junk, it can make an S-10 Pickup float?!?!?! :D

There is a 2 part epoxy that you can get at Home Depot or Ace Hardware that works pretty well. I use it on a SS tank. It is totally submerged in water constantly. I'll check the name and report back.

Dries in 45 minutes. I put the water back in the tank after that, and they say it cures in 24 hours. I don't know because I put it back in service after 45 minutes. If I put it on properly it lasts for a couple of years.

I sealed a leak in a flat bottom aluminum boat with RTV (similar to silicone) that lasted several years. Might be worth a try. I just dried it out good and ran a steel brush over it before coating it.

Thanks for all the replies. The trouble is that I can't really get to all the corners. So if there was a liquid that I could just pour in that would probably be perfect...

JB Weld makes some good stuff…even cures under water! I just fixed a leaking rinse tank with it. But since you can’t get to the corner…and ff the tank’s contents are circulated constantly, Fix A Leak (www.fixaleak.com) will seal up to 1/8” hole. I’ve had good luck sealing leaky floor heat tubing with the stuff…it’s remarkable! I bought it from a local swimming pool supplier…$30/quart. Might be worth a try.

I've used fix a leak also on leaky floor heat. You can get on Amazon.
